Saint Lussorio's church

Address: via Marconi 55 - 09031 Arbus (VS)

The church was in the current Saint Lussorio square in Arbus historic centre. It dates back to the Roman period but it was thrown down by the Municipality to build the square: now, only some ruins can be watched. The church was dedicated to Saint Lussorio who left the army and was captured in Arbus, arrested and finally condemned to death in Cagliari where he was born.

Further information: the day of the feast was very important for the farmers of Arbus because in this day their rural contract was renewed. It was such a rendering of account and for that reason in Arbus people say “a pagai a Santu Lusciori”, it means “I will pay you back at Saint Lussorio”
